Tidewater Landscapes and Hardscapes LLC is based in Mattituck and works throughout the East End of Long Island. We started the company to give local homeowners a landscaping and hardscaping partner who understands the specific challenges of coastal properties: sandy soil, salt air, high water tables, and Long Island’s four distinct seasons.
Every project, from a spring cleanup to a full patio build, gets the same level of care and communication. We’re a small, local crew.

Meet the Owner
The Person Behind Tidewater
Tidewater is locally owned and based right here in Mattituck. Here’s a little about who’s behind the name.
My name is Sean Szczotka. I graduated from Mattituck High School in 2025, and I worked in landscaping all through high school. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with it. There’s nothing better than getting to work outdoors every day.
For about five years now, I’ve been doing landscape work, taking on small jobs of my own and working with several different companies. That experience taught me what it takes to do the job right, and now I’ve decided it’s time to go out on my own.
I started Tidewater because I believe the backyard is one of the most important parts of any property. I don’t want your yard to be just a backyard. I want it to be an outdoor living space you truly enjoy, the kind of place that makes your family want to step outside and spend time together.
